If you're reading this, then you must be new to the site! Welcome! Or, you could be brushing up on the rules after being gone for a while, either way, I'm glad you're reading this. Making your first character is very easy, now especially that I have made this handy guide for you.
Step 1|
Make sure that you read the rules of this site. The rules will explain what you can, and cannot, do, and it also includes somethings about your characters. If there is anything you don't understand about the rules, ask a staff member, post a question, or PM me!
Step 2|
After you've read the rules, scroll down until you see the board that says "Create your Character!". Once you've entered this board, look over to the right side of the forum. There is a option that says "Start new thread." Click on that.
This is the form in which you create your cat. You will need to type at least two sentences for your cat's appearance, personality, and history. The roleplay sample is just for your FIRST bio, but you can include it in others if you would like to.
Step 3|
Once you've started a new topic, copy and paste the bio form into the body of the post. Start with filling out the basics: Name, gender, alliance (what clan your cat is in. N/A if cat is a loner or kittypet), and position (Apprentice, warrior, etc.) You may not apply for the position of a leader, deputy, or med cat, unless you are making your own clan.
After that, things get a little tougher. For the appearance, describe what your cat looks like, and make sure that you include eye color as well. The fur colors, and eye colors, will need to be realistic (meaning your cat cannot have bright green fur with rainbow colored eyes). If you don't know about cats colors and patterns, you may ask staff, or google "tabby patterns." I will be making a guide about cat patterns and colors shortly, so bare with me while I get it done.
Once you finish your cat's appearance, move onto the personality, which, in my opinion, is the best part in creating a cat. There are really no restrictions to the cat's personality, so have fun with it, and be creative.
Next, you need to fill out the history of you cat. What happened to them in the past? Did they have a good kithood? Did they have a bad kithood? Were their parents loners?
You could ask yourself a few of those questions when trying to think of an interesting history for your cat. You could also describe their siblings (If they have any) or parents, or perhaps other cats that are close, or were close, to them. If you need a bit more inspiration, you may look at other peoples bios, but please don't plagiarize. You can be banned for it.
If this is your first bio, you will need to fill in a roleplay sample. You just need to type a few sentences of anything your cat is doing.
For example: Examplepaw padded into the apprentice den, a happy grin on his face. "I'm an apprentice!" he yelled.
Keep in mind, your roleplay sample, along with all of the other roleplay on this site, should be in past tense, meaning third person. Here is a BAD example:
Exampletail is bored. He pads out of the den and gets a mouse from the freshkill pile.
The example I used above this one is a good example of third person roleplaying. If you're still confused about third person roleplay, PM me or a staff member.
After you're finished with the bio, click "post" and wait for the bio to be approved by a staff member. If the staff member says that something needs changing, change it, and then bump your thread. Bumping your thread is where you post the word "bump" in your thread, indicating that you changed your bio. Please be patient when waiting for your bio to be approved. Once your bio is approved, you may roleplay your character!
I hope that this helped!
But wait, theres more!
If you want to make a unique character, follow these guidelines:
Everyone likes the good old evil cat right? Why not make one then! These cats are often wandering around, murdering just for kicks. Their very smart, cunning, and emotionless, and they don't always have a motive for what they do either.
And theres also the cat that everyone gets along with. Their kind and gentle, yet fierce and loyal. They're a good leader when they need to be, and a good follower as well.
And lastly, but not least, we have the womanizer. He sweeps the ladies off of their feet, and seems like a great guy, but is he really who he says he is? No. I don't think I need to elaborate any further with this, these personalities are up to you, and by no means do you have to create a cat like this.
After all, you may start out with a kind and gentle cat, but he may turn bad from an experience, or something like it, and his persona changes dramatically. It's up to you.
Just make sure that you don't go a little overboard with insane cats, or really any cat that has a somewhat interesting personality. To much of a good thing, well, is just to much of a good thing. And please, do some research before you create a cat with a mental disorder or illness. It makes things run smoother that way.
I will definitely be adding more to this guide, but not right now. When I update, there will be much more to read, about more character personalities and whatnot.
Anyway, I hope that this guide helped you!
